ADSDAQ is Down and Out!

Well, it worked well for about a week and then my whole site was down because the ADSDAQ ads weren’t being served.  I gave it 30 minutes this morning and with no change in service, I dropped them.  During that half an hour waiting period, I did my searches and found that there has been a history of a down period every few months.  Here is another lesson learned, check for service outages before committing to a service. Revver’s Down and Out

It happened again!  Revver’s service is down yet another day, and as far I’m concerned it was their last.  I’m letting them have the $0.42 that I’ve earned through their service and have switched to embedding YouTube videos.  Two great things have happened consequently.  First, there are many more videos available on YouTube, so my site will have better content as I continue to add more posts.  Second, but more importantly, my site is running faster.  The load time was cut down significantly once I uninstalled the Revver plugin for WordPress.

I’m also in the process of stripping my site of Shopzilla, LinkShare, and Commission Junction links.  I’m sticking with what works: Google Adsense, Amazon Affiliates, and Adroll.  More on this move next time.

Last Week of Vacation - Week #6

Okay, so this is why having a website to generate money is so exciting - I achieved a new record in Weekly Revenue while doing nothing on vacation.

Some time last month I emailed MUG, Manhattan User Guide, about my site because it has a lot of resources for New Yorkers.  This week it was featured.  The day the email went out I spiked to a record 522 visitors in a single day.   Well, that day I earned $3.35 in Google AdSense revenue and $0.03 from Revver.  Well, that made for a nice vacation and provides some motivation to work hard next week.  Back to the grind….

Website #1 – Week6

Website #2

Just adding content.  Hey, it is starting to pick up!  I’ll have to think about ads here.

Website #3

Nothing really happening here.  No content added during break.  It shows too!

Website #4

I keep going back and forth between my old idea and my new one.  The new idea relates to an old hobby and the old idea relates to my day job.  The new idea seems more exciting, but will take a lot of time.  The old one will be easier to do because I have some of it done already.  Hmmmm…  maybe I’ll just have to do both.
